I’d love to help you choose and care for PNW plants for your garden. See the Services page for details. I stick mainly to Yamhill County, Oregon but I’m open to travelling a bit if you are nearby.
My horticultural experience spans a lifetime, starting with thinning carrots and watering a big garden for my working mom, who taught me the practical side of gardening. The rest I practiced on the job as a professional propagator and landscape gardener. I was formally trained in Botany at the University of Washington. I have an M.S. in Conservation Biology. What I like are the wild edges of things, probably because I grew up on a cattle ranch in Colorado with a lot of time to explore nature.
My current personal project is the restoration of endangered Oregon white oak habitat on 20 acres in Oregon. You can see more about it at Gopher Valley Journal
Join the Yamhill Butterfly Gardeners to keep up on the latest in habitat gardens and native plant sharing.
